For many years the National Distance Education University (UNED) has been offering on-line education via a virtual campus.
Traditionally it targeted a more adult public interested in acquiring a university education enabling them to combine studies with professional work. At the present time it has more than 250,000 students, it offers official degrees (250.000 degrees, 27 university masters, 65 PhD programmes) and a varied range of more than 6000 continuing education courses.
Currently, it offers specific programmes (UNED Languages, UNED open, summer courses, etc.).
